Editorial Illustration on the topic of ADHD

SUMMARY

ADHD Brain is an editorial illustration based on the impact of this neurodiversity on individuals. The use of texture in this illustration is inspired by the aesthetic of scientific illustrations.

CREATIVE PROCESS

Much of my creative work draws substantial inspiration from the realm of science, and my particular interest lies in exploring the intricate interplay between science, technology, and art. My journey commenced with an in-depth examination of photographic materials and preexisting illustrations depicting the human brain, complemented by an extensive study of the clinical signs and symptoms associated with diagnosed Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

I found myself captivated by the subdued and muted colour palette commonly employed in scientific illustrations. However, I sought to juxtapose this visual approach with vibrant and vivid hues, symbolically representing the profound impact of hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattentiveness inherent to this condition. Furthermore, the abstract shapes surrounding the brain were crafted to create a stark contrast with conventional brain depictions, while the composition of the brain itself assumed a central role within the illustration, signifying the paramount significance of the effects of ADHD on an individual's life.
